Sterling Silver Wattle

Acacia binervia ‘Sterling Silver Wattle’ is a striking, fast-growing native wattle selected for its shimmering silver-grey foliage and elegant upright habit. A cultivar of the hardy Acacia binervia (commonly known as Two-veined Hickory Wattle), this variety adds a refined, luminous quality to gardens and landscapes.

‘Sterling Silver’ typically reaches around 3 to 5 metres tall and 2 to 3 metres wide, forming a dense, rounded shrub or small tree. Its narrow, elongated leaves have a silvery sheen that contrasts beautifully with darker green plants, and in spring it produces soft, pale yellow, fluffy ball-shaped flowers that attract pollinators.

The Sterling Silver Wattle is ideal for low-maintenance native gardens, screens, windbreaks or feature planting, it grows best in full sun to part shade and thrives in well-drained soils. It is both drought-tolerant and frost-hardy once established, and responds well to light pruning after flowering to maintain shape and vigour.
