Creeping Boobialla

Myoporum parvifolium

Creeping Boobialla, Myoporum parvifolium is a Native Groundcover. Dense, Narrow leaves produce clusters of Pretty White flowers. Grows to 15cm

Myoporum parvifolium, commonly known as Creeping Boobialla, is a low-growing, spreading evergreen shrub native to Australia. It’s a popular choice for groundcover, erosion control, and as a landscape filler due to its ability to quickly form a dense, carpet-like mat. The plant has small, narrow, dark green leaves and produces small white or pale pink star-shaped flowers, which are often followed by purple berries.

This plant is drought-tolerant once established and does well in full sun to light shade, though it prefers well-drained soil. It’s also fairly hardy in a range of soil types, making it a good option for areas where other groundcovers might struggle.

Myoporum parvifolium is commonly used for coastal gardens, as it tolerates salt and can handle poor, sandy soils. Additionally, it’s great for planting between pavers or in hanging baskets, where its trailing growth habit can add a soft, lush appearance.

Its low maintenance and fast-growing nature make it ideal for filling in areas where you want coverage quickly without much upkeep. Have you thought about using it as groundcover or for any specific purpose in your garden?
